Dap® Weldwood® Non-Flammable Contact Cement Review

by admin ·

1 stars

tom from chicago,il. on Aug.202011

1out of 5

I bought this stuff to glue down wood veneer to wood. I read the can and followed all directions…..IT DID NOT WORK!!!!…. as it was drying I would check it with my finger to see how tacky it got…..very very little….since I was using paperback veneer it says I should give it two coats..no change with 2nd. I thought well maybe when the two sides meet I’ll be surprised. nope!….I can’t figure out what’s wrong. THIS STUFF JUST WONT STICK!….it says this stuff has a 12 month shelf life, so either I got some old stuff or it’s just garbage.

Rachel Roy Shoes, Izzy Ankle Boots Women’s Shoes Review

by admin ·

4 stars

Boot Maven from PNW, WA on Aug.212011

4out of 5

I just bought these in a dark beige today at Ross for $20, the compare at price was $200 (I’m sure they were probably less expensive though) and by judging Rachel Rachel Roy’s site, the boots I saw on there were quite pricey. They’re no longer on the site however. I’m usually a size 9.5-10 however I purchased the 9.5 over the 10. I feel the boots were pretty true to size and since I live in the Pacific Northwest I’ll probably be wearing them with thick wool socks anyway! They’re stiff right now but they just need time to be worn in. For 20 bucks, I’m really happy and surprised that they’re quality leather, and so soft. They are great for a variety of outfits and I’m sure will suit a lot of styles.

Super Mabel Towable Tube Review

by admin ·

2 stars

Water girl from Lake Hartwell, SC on Aug.222011

We had a Big Mabel for three years. The zipper broke, but it never had a leak. We bought a Super Mabel, and it gets a new leak EVERY TIME we take it out. It is a major hassle to patch. The leaks are in the same locations. The quality of the bladder is awful. Now our case has ripped as well. We’ve only used it about 20-25 times. My neighbor has a Great Big Mabel, and it has a broken zipper. I am looking at Amazon.com reviews and see lots of people have had our experience, yet Sports Stuff doesn’t want to perform the good will we feel they should, and replace the bladder with one that is without manufacturing defects. Perhaps there is no such thing?

The tube has vents to let water out, but they are in the wrong location, causing water to come in and not go out. It causes the tube to get weighed down in the water, not allowing the action our kids want from a tube. I love the couch like design of the Mabels, but won’t be buying another one.

Men’s Cabela’s 5 Trail Shorts – Birch (30) Review

by admin ·

4 stars

Josh from Redwood Coast,Far Northern California on Aug.232011

When I saw that Cabela’s 5 inch inseam trail shorts has over 1200 reviews ,many of them good, that attracted my attention and interest. I recently purchased a few pairs of these shorts and find the relatively short inseam length of 5 inches ideal because so many shorts these days have twice as long lengths. They are more comfortable to wear and I look better in shorter lengths. The metal zipper button is rugged and unlike so many shorts these days I have trouble securing the plastic zipper button in the hole this button is easy to secure. There are a lot of pockets for storage. The rear pockets just like the front ones have velcro faasteners which offer better security against would be pick pockets thieves. When velcro is opened it makes that distinctive noise and you are likely to hear it if someone is attempting to pick your pocket.

The only thing that stopped me from giving these shorts a 5 star rating is the awkward rear pocket designs where the top of the 2 rear pockets are not straight but angle up at a 45 degree angle and this is awkward for getting my wallet in and out of the pockets. This is the first time I have ever seen this on rear pockets but both these shorts and others have front pockets that have slanted tops but that is okay with me in
the front pockets.

Copper Bell Cafe – Riverview, Fl – Restaurant Review

by admin ·

The Copper Bell just opened across from the high school in Riverview, Fl. I have only eaten here twice so far. Once for lunch on Sunday and I am currently eating breakfast here.

On both occasions the staff of waitress seemed aloof. They did the bare minimum to serve the meals. The food was good. Breakfast prices are about six bucks. Lunch is six to eight bucks.

The food is plain. Standard American fare. It is good though. The place is clean. Both times it smells of cleaning products though. That is good and bad.

Note: The eggs and breakfast potatoes were well seasoned.

I give the place a solid B-

Small Town’s UFO Scare Revealed To Be Alien Hoax (Season 1: Ep 8 on IFC)

by admin ·

As the host of FactZone, Brooke Alvarez is one of the world’s most recognizable news figures. Growing up in Russia, Brooke dreamed of being famous and powerful. She emigrated to U.S., erased all trace of her Russian accent within three weeks, and began her systematic ascent to the top of the news industry. The details of this rapid climb through the various lesser networks to end up at the Onion News Network was the subject of “The Devil Incarnate” a book refuted by Brooke as “the pathetic scrawlings of a bitter and jealous acne-scarred half-reporter.”

A prolific Twitter user, Brooke tweets 20 to 40 times a day, often while her guests are talking. She’s appeared as herself in more than a dozen motion pictures although there is some debate whether she understood that the words on her teleprompter were fictional and where they would eventually appear. Brooke owns five corgi dogs, her favorite food is kale, and she is married to author Thomas Pynchon.

Brooke is active in charity work, having formed a foundation to teach newscaster dialect to young urban teens. She’s politically motivated as well, publicly campaigning against wind farms whenever her schedule allows.

While the media has made much of her long-standing feuds with both Wolf Blitzer and Yo Yo Ma, Brooke insists she is easy to get along with as long as everyone understands their place.

Brooke stays healthy and happy by swimming 20 miles each day in the resistance pool in her office.
