Man jumps on gator to save dog

When a 6-foot gator chomped down on a 27-pound dog, the owner ran into the marsh along the St. Lucie River and jumped on the gator, wptv.com reports.
“It was like jumping on a pile of rocks. But when I did, I caught him right behind the head here, I hit him here and his mouth opened and Doogie took off, and the gator turned around and went under the boat and out he went,” Gary Murphy told the website.
Doogie is recovering at a vet’s, and Murphy, who lives along the marsh, is planning to install an electric fence.
