Gaspar’s Pirate Ship

I decided to stop by Jose Gaspar’s ship for a few minutes this afternoon to take a few pictures. Jose is a mythical pirate who ravaged the west coast of Florida. Every year Tampa celebrates Gasparilla. Gaspar’s pirates overtake the city and celebrate with a few weeks of parties, parades, and plundering!
At the end of Gasparilla, the city’s mayor banishes Gaspar back to the sea. It is pretty awesome.
